Stuffed Tofu Paratha

Today i prepared paratha and i used soft organic tofu,it doesn't look so perfect but it tasted delicious. I had added mint leaves which gave it a very nice flavor. I am sure you will enjoy it.

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups wheat flour(atta)
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp oil
For Stuffing:
  • 1 cup grated tofu
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 inch grated ginger
  • a hand full of cilantro(chopped)
  • 15 mint leafs(chopped)
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp chat masala
  • 3 to 4 chopped green chillis
  • 1 tsp oil to fry for each paratha
Cooking Procedure:

Making Dough for paratha

Take flour and mix salt to it then add three-fourth cup of warm water gradually, knead to make a smooth dough. And keep aside for 15 min.

For stuffing
Mix all the ingredients of stuffing in a bowl n keep aside

Making the paratha

After 15 min break the dough in 6 equal portions

Roll each portion in a ball and flatten it by pressing.

Place 1 table spoon of tofu stuffing on it and enclose it.Seal the edges completely so that stuffing does not come out.

Flatten again, sprinkle a little flour and roll them with a rolling pin to approximately six-inch diameter.

Heat a frying pan(tawa), place paratha on it and cook on moderate heat for three minutes.

Turn it and pour half a tablespoon of oil or butter, spread it on paratha and shallow fry over low heat.

Turn it and again pour half a tablespoon of oil or butter on other side.

Cook on low heat till golden brown.

Serve hot with fresh plain yogurt .

I am sending these healthy paraths to the Global Kadai - Tofu event at Desi Soccer Mom ,started by Cilantro.

The porathas are healthy look great. Sometimes this does happen with stuffed porathas and chappatis if the stuffing is moist!! I would add a bit of potato powder to dry the filling and problem solved. I will certainly try your recipe!
